What we adjust for high-rise living

Nails trimmed shorter and ground smooth. Filed edges do not scratch polished lobby floors or snag in elevator door tracks.
Deep de-shedding on the undercoat. We pull loose coat out in the salon so it does not end up on the elevator carpet.
Long-lasting, low-key finishing spritz. Enough to keep a dog fresh in a closed apartment, never strong enough to bother a neighbour sharing the elevator.
Sanitary and paw-pad trims every visit. Cleaner paws on the way back up from the pet relief area.

We are at 18980 W Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33180 — just west of Biscayne Boulevard and about four minutes from Aventura Mall. Street parking is directly outside, so drop-off takes under a minute.

How often should an Aventura condo dog be groomed?

Every 4 to 6 weeks for long-coated breeds like Maltese, Shih Tzu and Poodles, and every 6 to 8 weeks for short-coated dogs. Condo dogs benefit from the shorter end of that range because shedding and nail length are far more noticeable in a shared elevator and lobby.

Do you groom dogs while I wait, or is it a full-day drop-off?

Neither. Because we take one dog at a time by appointment, a standard full groom takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Most Aventura clients run an errand at the Mall and come straight back — no dog sits in a crate waiting for a pick-up window.

Is Happy Pups really cage-free?

Yes, one hundred percent. Your dog is with their groomer from the moment they arrive until you collect them. There are no crates and no drying cages in our salon, which is why we schedule by appointment only.
